Linux without a windows partion

Hi, i would like to build myself a new PC but don;t want to install windows, i would like to use linux instead, but is it possible to run Linux without a windows partition on your HDD, or would i need to install both OS's. Thanks

You just need to install linux. Generally the installs for the various distrobutions are easy to follow so you shouldn't have too much difficulty installing it.

thanks for that, does anyone have any advice on what version of it to use, i currently have a copy of Mepis Linux, would that install properly?
