Well, I decided to build a computer instead of just ordering a pre-built desktop.

This is my first computer to build, and I only have some idea as to how to begin.

But first, I need to if these parts are good for a ~$500 budget --

-Cooler Master Centurion Mid-tower w/ 430W power supply - $69.99

-AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ (Socket AM2) Dual-core processor, 2MB Cache - $109.99

-Masscool 80mm Sleeve Bearing Case Fan (x2(?)) - $2.99 (x2)

-MSI K9N SLI-F Motherboard - v2.0, NVIDIA nForce nForce 570 LT SLI, Socket AM2/AM2+, ATX, Audio, PCI Express, Gigabit LAN, USB 2.0, Serial ATA, RAID - $89.99

-Crucial Ballistix Dual Channel 2048MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz EPP Memory (2x 1024MB) - $44.99

-KFA2 GeForce 8600 GT Video Card - 512MB DDR2, PCI Express, SLI Ready, DVI, VGA, HDTV, Video Card - $74.99

-Western Digital Caviar SE 160GB Hard Drive - 7200, 8MB, SATA-300, OEM - $49.99

-Creative Labs 70SB057000000 Sound Blaster Audigy SE Card - 28.99

-Lite-On PLDS DVD-ROM/CD-RW Retail Combo Drive - 52x32x CD-R/RW, 16x DVD-ROM, Black - $24.99

-Logitech Cordless Desktop EX110 - $33.24

I also need to know if these are compatible with each other.

Thanks.

I'm using it for mid-level gaming. As in, I'm not looking to play Crysis or those games, but maybe Battlefield 2 and Company of Heroes.

Fans?

Better PSU 550W or so, but otherwise that would be a better system

case is prety much prefrence only.. the only effect a case can have on performance is is it cools well or not, but since this is not a super computer build, you dont need to worry alot about it. any case will do just fine. as long as it accepts your mobo..

it would be cheaper to to a computer shop to get one, otherwise its so expensive to ship.

you dont need a super case but other than that, good choice. I would spend less on the case, get a 550W PSU, and if your case comes with PSU(this one does) sell it, and then upgrade to a 8800gt!

good luck
