little problem

I installed my new amd x2 6000 3.1ghz but when i boot up it says found new hardware "acpi multiprocessor" or something like that. Then when I restart it gets to the loading screen and reboots. I have to do last working configuration for it to work. When I boot up it does the same thing again. Help!
 
I got it to work under starting on "tuneup backup". I went to processor and before it did the found new hardware I got it to download the new amd processor drivers. Its working pretty good now other than the fact im realizing how bad I need a windows reinstall.
 
Interesting. I never knew you would need to do a reinstall of an operating system after upgrading a processor. I have heard of people needing to flash a BIOS when upgrading a central processing unit before though.

Glad to hear you got it up and running. What was your old processor you upgraded from?
 
I upgraded from a am2 65nm sempron. It was something to do with the drivers and i finally tricked it into installing the amd drivers. Weird!
