I just bought a used Thinkpad. I got it for $156. The exterior is scratched up. Also, One pixel is stuck. Should I return it or live with it?

edit: :D ha it is in your sig... i would personaly just get a new one. i mean they are 400 new with good processors bigger hd an stuff. but if you are on a tight budget it is not too bad

The seller said he can exchange it. Should I do that or get a refund? Also, If I find one with 366 MHZ, is that too low?

hey, i have 2 lcd monitors and a nintendo DS with stuck/dead pixels, and i dont notice them anymore. take that for what its worth.

in the end, its your decision, we cant make it for you. if you think it will drive you crazy return it, but as another forum patron said in another of your threads, its an old computer and what can you expect.

You're right! I'm going crazy over one pixel. I'm going to sleep on it. Thanks for your recommendations.

I'm 95% sure I'm going to keep it. I looked on ebay and found a new screen for $30. I doubt that I'm going to buy the screen. But it is nice to know. Once Again, Thanks for your help!

I would return it, but that's just because I would never pay over $100 for a laptop that is 5+ years old unless I was buying it for resale. If you're going to get a laptop, you might as well save to get a decent one. Sure you might be paying 2-4 times as much, but you'll be getting 10 times the laptop.

I exchanged it. The seller said he would provide Free shipping for the new system. Plus, I shipped it out for Free. So, It's worth it!

I'd return it. The reseller you bought it from should have already realized the stuck pixel and repaired it. As for the scratches, ehhh unless your keen on how it looks I would not be too surprised as its a used laptop. But return it anyway, you can get better.

However if you wanted to be cool, you could buy that 30$ screen and fix it up yourself. But when personally when it comes to buying used laptops, I'm pretty stingy.

No. When I got it home there was not a stuck pixel. Until I started using it, the pixel got stuck. But he replaced the screen for free and put on a new hinge. Plus, My shipping was free. I liked the speed of the laptop. Not extremely fast, but worked well with youtube. So, It was worth it.
