loading my window on startup

my question is when i load window or restart it its loading the programs i got in it but how can i stop some of the programs to load some friend helped me one day he went on "run" startmenu and he wrote something and every program that i have was there and i can stop it from there but i dont know wat he wrote to show up this menu who can help me because my pc load slow on startup
 
START ---> RUN ---> type 'msconfig' ---> click on the STARTUP tabe and deselect anythign that you dont want to start.
