Lock Ups - Why?

Hey I'm new here, but was wondering if anyone here could help with a severe problem i've been having.

I bought my computer March of this year from IBuyPower.com . About a month afterwards the problems started.

The computer will randomly lock up, preventing anything and eveything, requiring a manually restart of the system.

The strange thing, that i've not heard of in any other case i've read, is that when it does this The speakers emit a loud high-pitched whine which persists until the restart.

These primarily happen when playing any sort of game, from AoE II to Crysis, but also when doing normal stuff, such as surfing the net and listening to music. It's even locked up on me while trying to log in to windows, immediately after restarting from a lockup!

Comp. Specs:

PSU - Ultra X3 1000W
CPU - QX9650
CPU heatsink - Thermaltake V1
Motherboard - ASUS Striker II Formula
RAM - 4096MB DDR2-800 Corsair XMS2 Xtreme
GPU - 2x Nvidia Geforce 8800GT 1GB
Sound Card - Sound blaster X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty Champion Series
OS - Windows XP Media Center 2005 Edition

If anyone can help me with this extremely annoying problem it would be greatly appreciated.
