Alright im assuming having the sub near the tower is bad correct??

Ive always assumed this but never gotten any other opinions but if its not it could save me some space..either way

opinions on subwoofers close to pc's please.

thanks

Uhm, I'm pretty sure it's bad, but my friend left his Z-5500 sub next to my Case for a while at a LAN, and it was fine.

I have my sub on my right, on the floor, and my case on my left, also on the floor, so.

I'm using the X-540's BTW, and I did the same setup with my X-530's, so just to let you know.

Well it depends, i have the same speakers as g4m3rof1337 (go the X 540's :D) and i have my tower in the desk (the computer spot) and then my sub about 1 foot away, and i haven't had any problems, my sub is on the ground though, i crank it loud and i haven't had any problems with my PC or anything.

As long as your tower isn't vibrating or anything, you should be fine.

I can remember about a thread about this and someone i think said there hard drive sometimes jumped and you tell because the screen would go funny for a little while.

it's considered "bad" because the sub has a huge magnet in it, and most speakers are not magnetically shielded. magnets can cause your HD to corrupt or even be wiped out. it must be extremely close or strong though, like one of those rare earth magnets. but just for precaution, don't leave any type of magnets close to your PC

z-5300 is the Logitech series speakers i have...man what a deal i thought at least.

Anyways its like a Foot and a half away from my other tower thats my "bitch" computer that does all my downloading and such

well my 10" Z-5500 subwoofer is 2.5 feet away from my comp with 5 hard drives....no data problem as of yet and I've had my Z-5500s for about 3 years now.
