LOL, CC Lighting, experience...

i'm happy i didnt buy that now. i bought two sound activated logysis blue ones instead of those sticks. :D consider those when you get your money back, you may not want to be unorigional with the blue cathodes, but its really fun to see them bump with the bass, and shoot in COD4

I got a red and black theme going (My mouse is also Red and Black)

There is nothing really wrong with them, they bright and all, but the red is not red, its like a light red, even pinkish red...

Im sure blue would be fine, cause its a "darker" colour...

Along time ago I had this problem as well. All the cathodes I tried were pink instead of red. So what I finally did was get that see through cellophane that people make baskets with or to package items. Just cut a strip and wrap your cathode with it. It will not harm it and makes the cathode color a deep red. Just use clear tape to apply it or a dab of super glue along the seem.

I got LED fans, I just want more light. The cellophane rectified 90% of the problem. its still not as deep as my LED fans but i can live with it

Glad the cellophane that was mentioned helped get closer to the color you wanted. I've yet to come across a red CCFL that was red. They are either too orange or too pink. I'll have to try that trick with the couple sets I've got lying around.

The only downside is that you lose a bit of that brightness...

but at least its red. And its still bright enough...

Yeah, the led's are truer to red than the cold cathodes from what ive seen also, but the led sticks work great from what ive seen.

I am glad it worked for you. I have yet to see a true red cathode. LED's are ok but they do not give the uniform light that a cathode gives. I wonder why it's so hard to make it red?
