lol help Overclocking error

Ok i successfully overclocked my cpu to 2.66ghz but i tried to get it up running at 3 ghz using the same voltage which was 1.125v and now i can't even boot it up anymore, i try to go back into bios but it keep restarting... Anyone know how i can change the setting back? Btw my mobo is a Gigabyte P35-DS3R
 
Take out the CMOS battery, the silver round thing on your motherboard, unplug everything in the back, wait 30 sec and put it back in and plug everything back in. That should set CMOS back to defaults. Then try overclocking from there.
 
uhh, I have the same motherboard and 1. that voltage is far too low..(well for most cpus it's way too low anyways), and 2. Whenever there's not enough voltage the p35-ds3r restores all the settings to default....so try taking your battery out for a while and trying again.
 
The P35 should automatically restore all defaults if it fails to post, you may have to restart it a few times first, but it's always worked for me.

I have heard the same thing, but you see.. it doesn't work. What will work is, if you clear your CMOS. Find the jumper of the CMOS and clear it.

Yep like said above you need to clear the CMOS by using either the jumpers or by taking out the battery.
 
Ok i cleared the cmos but it was a tough job because the graphic card was blocking it. But i have another question. Will more vcore makes the cpu faster? Currently i am running stable at 1.125v at 2.66ghz but just wondering will the cpu be faster if i run it at 1.250v?
 
Temps are 30c idle and 55c load with the 1.250v core. And also i scored 5.4 on vista score ^^

Geforce 8600 GTS
2 Gb DDR2-800 Crucial Ballistix Ram
Intel E4400 CPU overclocked 2.66ghz (currently using Scythe Ninja)
Samsung DVD burner
320 GB Sata 3gb/s Seagate Baracuda
