hi everybody..!
i just flashed my geforce fx 5900 xt...
i wanted to flash it to fx 5950 ultra ( i know it's a stupid idea, but what the hell, I just gave it a shot).

I flashed it using the nvflash utility with a bootable floppy disk.
in the floppy disk, I had the nvflash software, the original 5900 xt BIOS that I saved before, and the 5950 ultra BIOS.
i think.., I think I flashed it using the same BIOS as before ( the fx 5900 xt BIOS), coz I named the file bios1.ROM.
and I'm pretty sure that as I flashed my card, I typed the bios1 file, instead of the 5950 ultra BIOS I was gonna use..

then, after the flash was completed, i restarted my computer using ctrl+alt+del.
then......, suddenly a continuous BEEP occured.
it was so damn loud, it wont stop at all..., and the thing is..., the computer wont start.
nothing on the monitor, just 1 continuous BEEP.
BUT.., when I use my old graphic card ( ATI radeon 9200 SE), it works just fine, just perfectly fine... So I guess it's because of my NVIDIA graphic card.
does somebody know how to solve this problem?
thanks a lot guys...!

I think your grafic's card wont startup anymore. I gues it has a problem with the BIOS tbh. you could try booting up your system with a PCI card and the 'damaged' fx5900xt in your pc (with the monitor on the PCI card, and then try to reflash the BIOS to what it was.

Edit: ofcourse... I dont know for sure weither the pc would boot with those 2 cards inserted or not.. but I think it would

uhm.., I dont have any PCI cards, and I really dont wanna spend any more money on buying something that i only use 1 time.
how am I supposed to reflash my card if the computer wont boot...
isn't there any other options?

Last time I did that, I mis-flashed my mother board, I ended up having to get a new 1. I hope this isnt your case :(....

well...s ee if you can borrow a PCI card from a other pc or so.. Its your only option,.. you cant boot the pc with that card, and with a other agp card you cant flash it either.

Hi guys..., so I just bought a PCI graphics just to fix the flash on my geforce..
The computer can boot now with the BIOS settings to boot on PCI first, and that is if the PCI ard is still there.
after I put the PCI card out, it still wont work. I dont know which flash could bring my geforce back to normal.
I used NVFLASH, and used the original.rom data that I backup-ed at that time. I dont know if this file is correct, or maybe it's because of how I flashed it... I dont know if we have to erase the flash file first, then write the new one after it, or use the other options, like strap thingy..
anyway, what Im trying to say is, that I dont know how we do this flash correctly. I spent 10 hours just to try the possibilities on how I should flash my card correctly, but still...
I almost got crazy.. anyway, could somebody please help me?? thanks!
