Looks solid to me. My firend just bought an 8600gt and plays HL2 and WoW on it just fine, (he also has a gateway /cry) So if he does decide to play games or something of the sort, it should be plenty.

Can never go wrong with the "winner of customer choice awards"
 
MB, go for GA-P35-DS3L/ GA-P35-DS3R instead

Also, for monitor, not sure if you need to go for samsung 226BW. I know it is a good one, however, if he not gaming, he actually not need such expensive monitor to serve the job.

do you know that for a fact?

according to the specs on Newegg, the GA-965P-DS3 supports: 1333/1066/800/533MHz FSBs

i already completed my order for everything. i ordered it at the 109 dollar price tag as well. now its 124.

please let me know. that way i can order the P35-DS3L if needed. speaking of price, the P35-DS3L went up from 89 to 109 today.

i just did some research on the Gigabyte site.

the P35 will support the upcoming 45nm processors. also supports DDR3 (with the right model)

HUM, i kinda want to order the P35. if i did that, i wont open the 965P when it comes, then return it to Newegg....what do you guys think?
