I am planning on getting 2 of those 4TB drives to replace my 2 320GB WDs I currently have, and "throwing out" my 60GB SSD and using one of my 320GB HDDs for my operating system because I have no more room on it I cant even update windows anymore. 60GB is pretty useless now.

I currently have a total of 40GB left on my system out of the 500GB~ of space I have.

I am becoming very biased towards Western Digital hard drives. For 2 reasons. I have a 240MB Western Digital hard drive that still works from like the early 1990s. And I have had these 2 Western Digital hard drives since 2006 2007 I cant remember and I havent had a single problem with them. They are becoming a little noisy now, but other than that they have never crashed on me in any way.

I was just wanting some input on the 4TB WD drive I am looking at if anyone has any experience with them. The reviews are good. And I trust WD, but I know how quickly a company can go from making rock solid products to cheap crap to cut costs.....

Ok I might have a little more than 40GB free :p

EDIT:

I actually just changed my mind and went ahead and bought 1 of the 2TB models. I really cant wait for my space, so I will see how long 2TB will serve me. Might even keep my other 2 drives as well.

I'd keep the 60 GB just for the OS and maybe a browser or two, but you could offload all of the other installs onto the new drive.

Thing is, there is NOTHING installed on the 60GB drive other than windows and my display driver and other drivers. I managed to get 3.5GB free by deleting a bunch of game files and moving all my itunes downloads onto another drive. But I cant free up anymore space, and after updating windows again theres 3.4GB free. As long as windows 7 doesnt have another service pack or a big update it might be fine, but I think using 90+% of its capacity is probably hindering its speed. It has gotten a bit slower since I installed it, not as slow as my HDDs though.

I always heard you want a WD Black or Red. The Blue's suck monkey balls.

I dont think this one is a "Blue" is it? It says Se. Also, I am not looking for performance at all really. I am just looking for cheap but reliable storage. If its 171mb/s like it claims than its already twice as fast as my current HDDs which is almost as fast as my SSD and thats plenty fast enough for me really.
