Well im looking to buy my first desktop and have been saving for a while durning the summer here.... i went to best buy recently and asked about them, i told the guy i want to play games but im not an obsessive gamer, i'll play CoD2 and games of that sort...so he takes me over to the Gateways, im like no way a gateway? so i was curious have they actually stepped it up and made quality computers, because i know like 3 or 4 years ago they weren't any good. the one he pointed out had a dual processor 2.6ghz so when you multi task it runs both at the same time. 1gb ram..250gb hd...

Gateway GT4022 Desktop with AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor 4000+, 17" LCD Monitor & Photo Printer

similar to that one but not the same one as you can tell from the specs, so i would like to know if a computer of that sort will suite my needs?

thank you very much for your replies...

btw i am new here :) nice to meet you all!

It will most definitely suit your needs...except for real gaming. It uses a Nvidia Geforce 6100 (Integrated) which also happens to be what I have, and it will not run a whole lot of games, and nothing on full settings. But other than that, it is a very good computer.

However, since this is a computer forum, I have to recommend that you build your own, save money, and have a better computer. :D

And welcome, introduce yourself here

Lately I have heard that Gateway is getting better and better with the quality of their computers. Like you said 3 or 4 years ago not alot of people had faith in Gateway and their products but it seems to be changing and the good thing is that their not that all expensive for what you get.

In a way yes but only to people who know nothing about computers or just have money to spend and are stupid on how they spend it.
