Hi guys,

I am looking for a large and fast smart phone for browse and do some online trading via home wi-fi. Is there any phone can act like a tablet or laptop use only wi-fi to connect to the internet? The data service in my country are too expensive for the fast service and it is tooooo slow for the 2g service. Which unlock phone is my best choice? something like samsung S3? or similar for ~$US400.

Thank you

Thank you guys, but it has to be a phone too as I don't want to carry two devices. I want to use the phone for text and voice call and don't want to subscribe the data service as it is too expensive. I want to use the wi-fi to connect to internet to check my tradings.

How is this two samsung phones? the first one is locked? which is better?

Well you'll probably need to go with the International version unless you have a Verizon contract. Another phone you could also look into is the Galaxy Note since it's basically a phone that's built into a small tablet.

The Note is larger and has a larger, longer lasting (charge time) battery.

Are you going to be going through a carrier to make calls or are you going to be using the wifi as well to make calls?

if you plan on just getting a calling plan with no data just remember that the one is Verizon and make sure Verizon has good service in your area where as the unlocked phone could go to other more affordable carriers like cricket or Ting.

I use Digicel Jamaica or Cable and worthless Ja, for voice calls. Their 2g speed is unacceptable slow for US$20 a month unlimited and 4G speed with 3gb for US$25 and 7gb for $65 it run out all the time and not all area are covered only major cities.

I use the wifi at home and a shop to access the internet when the computer is not at site.

Cheers
