Here are some of my "best games played"

Oblivion- 5 Stars
Age Of Empires 3- 4 1/2 Stars
Movies- 2 Stars
Witcher- 1 Star

any suggestions

In my opinion, the game is pretty dated. Its fun but not worth $20.

I'd highly recommend TF2 if you're looking for shooters but it sounds like you're more into RTS and RPG.

Have you played Fallout 3?

Definitely search this section of the forum cause there have been tons of threads asking this type of question.
 
I haven't seen any hate towards it yet, so I'll mention it, World of Warcraft. You can try the 10 day free trial, if you like it, take advantage of the Recruit a Friend feature, and whoever recruits you, you and that person gain 3x the experience (and you level fast) for 3 months or until that character hits 60. That's what persuaded me to play.


If that's not your type, I recommend CSS, COD4, COD5, TF2, L4D, and games of that nature.
 
i have always wanted to play WOW and Guild Wars but I have dial-up...but if there are other multiplayer games I can play with dial-up please feel free to mention.
 
if you really like oblivion, you'll love morrowind (the third elder scrolls game)
Also you should try fallout 3
Oh and if you like Age of Empire check out Empire Total War
 
CS:S is great, never stop playing that.
i started playing Stalker, shadow of chernobyl, got it for $5 a couple weeks back. it's a great game, the bugs will creep up on your, but the story and setting are quite stunning.
 
Grand Theft Auto IV - Awesome game but you need the hardware to run it. However i get ok fps with high/very high settings (shadows off due to technical issues) and pretty smooth in multiplayer. It keeps shutting down my comp after a while but i think when the game needs resources it sucks a lot of juice out of my PSU... perhaps moving too fast for it.
 
Half life 2 and Bioshock! Two of the best shooters i've ever played.

The stuttering is actually a bug in the game, people with GTX 295s sometimes have them too.
 
Left 4 Dead, TF2 and CS:S would be pointless because of the dial up and that the main feature of them is the multiplayer side, without which, TF2 and CS:S especially, are pointless.

Few good RTS games:

Setlers: Herritage of Kings

Civilization 4 + expansions (Warlords can be very fun and very tacticle if you do the warlord thing, it is very difficult but very fun)

C&C3 + Kane's Wrath

Some good single player RPG Games:

Fallout 3, which can potentially take a little while to get in to, but once you get into the swing of it, it is one of the best games ever made and there are thousands of useful and fun mods.

Borerlands, I didn't particularly like this, but the vast majority of people seem to, it is very stylised but quite fun, I just found it repetative after a short while.

Mass Effect, which is SO good, if you get it now you can carry your character on in Mass Effect 2 when it comes out.

Dragon Age: Origins, if you have the system for it, this looks like an amazing game, but the specs are a little hefty for budget gaming machines, but still check it out, looks well good

Also try Half Life if you haven't already, it is by far, imo and in the opinion of many many others, the BEST series of games to have ever been made
 
For PC Fallout 3 is a must.

It's like Oblivion except in a post nuclear fallout Washington DC. It's an RPG FPS, but you use a targeting system that makes it almost turn based.

Left of Dead is a lot of fun, same with the Call of Duty games.

I suggest looking through some game review sights for stuff with high scores and see what looks good. Go to youtube and search for those games, you'll often find videos of people playing or reviewing the game. It's good to see how the game actually plays rather than just reading about it.
