Looking for a new laptop

Hi, I'm a student in high school and I am looking for a new laptop to replace my Dell Inspiron 1501 which I have had for about 4 years. I will get another laptop in college, but for now I need one due to the fact that I only have 512mb of ram, my sound doesn't work, and etc. I used to game but not anymore, the most I will need the laptop to do smoothly is run video, so I just need a good all around computer. Also a good webcam would be nice as I'd like to video chat. My budget is 500-700 (because my parents are paying for it), I would try building my own desktop but I need the portability that comes with a laptop. Thanks in advance,

Devin

This gateway would probably be the best spec with the price tag. core i3 with BD-combo.

This acer is slightly out of your budget, but with core i3 and ati5650, it allow slight gaming if you want to. But it is at 17"
