Looking for an alternative to Quick Books

I'm starting a business for onsite IT work with a friend of mine. We're looking for a free alternative to quick books. We need the software to create invoices (not sales invoices but service invoices) and be able to write checks, track clients, and expenses and what not. Does anyone know of anything that might fit our needs?

Take a look at Invoice Expert, it doesn't do everything you are looking for but it is free.

I found something that might work, it's called GNUcash. Seems to be open source, has anyone here heard of or used it before?
