Hi guys, I've been out of the PC building game now for a few years and looking at building a new PC for a friend with a budget of £700 with the sole purpose of gaming, there's no preference of Intel/AMD & AMD/nVidia but looking to be able to play games to up to at least 2017, Ideally with a bit of future-proofing built in to the setup.

Requirements:

24" 1080p Monitor
Mouse & Keyboard (preferably gaming orientated)
PSU (already purchased)
8GB DDR4 (to be doubled up at a later date)
Mid range motherboard, no overclocking capability needed
I5/Ryzen 5 mid range
Mid range graphics card for 1080p gaming
SSD 512GB
HDD (already purchased)
Mid range case with good airflow

No need to include Windows 10 in the budget

Thanks a lot!
Jason

You should get the Ryzen 5 3600 instead.

Probably should get faster ram. Ryzen loves ram speed.

Thanks for the tip! We're ideally looking to keep the budget as close to £700 as possible, but after looking at the 3600, being only £25 more expensive is a good shout, what ram speed would you recommend, at least 3000Mhz?
