Looking for cheap raid card with 8 Ports

Im planning to get 8 SSDs with the intentions to put them all in Raid 0.
I most likely will be waiting till about black friday before doing so in the hopes that I can find 128GB+ drives for cheap.

But in the meantime I thought I should look at raid cards so I have an idea of what my options will be.

Im trying to find a Raid card that supports up to 8 SATA III SSDs, but so far the ones ive mostly found are ones that have poor reviews or cost over $300.

Anyone know of any good raid cards with 8 ports for around $100-$125 at most?
 
What are you trying to achieve? 8 ssds in RAID 0 will bottleneck a PCIe slot. What are you trying to achieve over getting a PCIe ssd?
 
I want to overkill the speed to the absolute limits of what PCIe can obtain.

Unless I can use 2 4 port raid cards and raid the 2 raid cards together
 
My budget will be around $400-$500, but keep in mind ill be waiting till around black friday when I might be able to get them for cheaper.

The minimum im look at is 1 TB total, but I can do more than that.
I have 2 2TB SSHDs I can use for backing them up.

It seems raiding them can be slightly cheaper than outright buying a 1 TB SSD, and then there is the benefits of it being in Raid 0 to maximize the speed.

My signature shows what motherboard I currently posses. It has 2 Sata 6.0gb/s and 4 Sata 3 Gb/s. Im currently using both Sata III slots for my SSHDs and 1 of the other slots for an old 1TB HDD
 
You are also increasing the chance that you will loose all of your data on that tb volume. 1 drive fails and it is all gone.

What applications are you running that you would need that kind of speed?
 
Nothing in particular I just want to overkill everything, but losing data is not an issue as I have already said I intend on using one of my 2 2TB SSHDs to regularly backup the data.
 
Agreed. 2 512s in RAID 0 will give you more than enough performance.

What are the read write of the SSHDs? If you are not breaking 300 MB/s then you can move them to the SATA II ports and not sacrifice any performance. Leaving the 2 SATA III ports for Onboard (If onboard RAID is ok with you) RAID 0 with the 2 512gb drives.
