Looking for Component Advice on a Decent DIY Gaming Rig Under $1000

I have a $984.98 check to Newegg (with a bit of cash on hand if/when I go over) and a zombie box of a Dell XPS 400 that Ive been keeping alive with decent EVGA cards for too long now. I need a new rig, and I was hoping for some advice on building one from the ground up.

+ I dont need HDDs or SSDs because I have some/can get more cheep.

+ I really want to go bare bones on the case. Something without all the stupid LEDs.

+ I have a strange love of EVGA cards. They seem to work the best for me. If you can fit it in the budget, that would be awesome.

+ An i5 2500 is about all I need. I dont really plan to overclock, so 2500k and its associated chip sets arent really a must.
