So as of right now, I am using a toshiba satellite c655. this thing can support playing world of warcraft, but my graphics have to be as low as they can go. Does anyone have any good ideas on a laptop for around $700 or less that would work well with both games?

Get a ViDock and a 560ti or 6950. Total cost is around $550.

I believe the GT 540 runs worse in performance compared to a 9800GT. From what I remember is it has 96 cuda cores. and the memory bandwidth is axed to an 1/3 of what the 9800GT is capable of.

I'll do some more research though..

Edit: Here is the GT 540m GT 540m, and here is the 9800GT specs: 9800GT

Reason I chose 9800GT is because you would still be playing on lowest settings (I believe so at least.. I am not familiar with WoW), and the 540m suffers in performance compared to the 9800GT.

That is why I brought the ViDock in. A friend of mine uses it, and it works flawlessly for her.

that one is not that great. It suffers in the GPU department.

as for 9800GT vs GT540m above, you can never win pitting Desktop cards to laptop cards.
9800m GT (equal) is 96@500MHz 256 bit http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-9800M-GT.9906.0.html
GT540m is 96@672MHz 128 bit and supports DX11. http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-540M.41715.0.html

Either way, the GT540 is a hot running card. It will not play on low though. You are looking at 20-25 FPS on medium with BC2 (know from experience).

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230095 has a better GPU than either of the above.
