Looking for help on a gaming tower

Hi , I am new here. I do not know alot about computers but looking to get into gaming on the computer. I play on the 360 and Ps3 but looking to start playing on the PC as well. Their is a local company in my area, that builds gaming computers. So i am just wondering if this is a good setup. Maybe you guys can let me know what I should change etc..

for gaming towers, here is the system we recommend.

CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 955 3.2 Ghz
Ram: 4 gigs of hyperX DDR2 1066 kingston
Graphics card: Geforce 250 GTS - outputs: HDMI, DVI, VGA

OS: Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
2 dvd optical drives
PSU: antec 550 watt
Custom black case with see throught side. Blue LED fans
total of 6 usb ports

This proccessor gives you an edge over the intel because it can be overclocked to 4 Ghz. The ram can also be overclocked to 1333. Hard drive is solid state with no moving parts whith incredible speed and very durable. The graphics card has an HDMI output which is great for gaming.

Cpu and Kingston HyperX memory are excellent choices. That 955 quad is a tremendous bang for your buck overclocker. It probably is AMD's most popular Black Edition Quad. Antec 550 is fine but the Corsair 650 is probably the better move.

Going with Windows 7 64-bit is a smart choice.

* The only thing I would seriously change is going with DDR3 Kingston HyperX or G.Skill offerings and an AM3 motherboard. Make sure that they are certain the RAM is recommended for your Asus board.

* Have you considered building your own?
 
that has a crappy motherboard...it takes down the performance of all the other parts.
the GPU could be a little better too, seeing that it will be a gaming rig. however good choice on the other parts. just be careful to keep the performance level and balanced throughout the build, or there will be bottlenecks.

haha amd doesnt use triple channel ram. LMFAO! srry but yeah better mobo BETTER graphics card and its better. also get ddr3 ram. massive performance boosts
