Anyone know if any manufacturer makes a USB 2.0 Flash Memory External Hard Drive? I am not looking for the USB small flash drives, I am looking for a large external hard drive that uses flash memory, not a hard disk. I would like something that has at least a 10 gigabyte capacity to backup files on my system that is under $25 in United States currency.

The reason I don't want an external hard drive is I hear they are fragile and break easily unlike flash memory.

hah that's nothing. when larger flash drives first came out about 5 years ago i really needed one so i shelled out 80 bucks for a 1GB Sony drive. At the time it was unheard of, now you can get them for 20 bucks. Mine still works perfectly though and it helped at the time, so whatever.

Back on topic: there apparently have been recent breakthroughs in flash memory storage, therefore in coming (hopefully 2008) years we will see more and more HD's using flash memory. The only bad thing about using flash memory as opposed to HD platters is that if the flash drive breaks then pretty much all of your data is lost, whereas the other can be recovered. If I recall correctly many notebooks have recently been shipped (i'm thinking it was dell/alienware) with flash-based hard drive. I dunno, maybe you should look into that.
