Looking fro a new lap top

Hello,

I'm looking for a new lap top. I have a dell PC now. So i'm shopping between a Dell and a Hp. It is mostly used for Quickbooks, photos, surfing the net on my home pc. So what i'm looking for is an extention of the home pc to a laptop something i can take to the fire station when I'm working. I don't belive I need any software because I think i can use what I have on my own pc to put on the new laptop. So any pointers help? I do know I want a large screen and a DVD drive to play movies. I don't need a burner since I use a pen drive alot. Please help.

Dell laptops are usally pretty good(as well as PDAs) Just stay away from their desktops ;)

Anyway, with that budget, you could get about any laptop you want. Are you looking for any specific size?
 
I don't think, I need any software, I think I can use the software on me PC I just want something fast, DVD player ands a large screen plus wireless capabilities

I configured a Dell Inspiron E1705 and here is the outcome:



It has alot of useful things like the TV tuner and remote, 2 9 cell batteries, Intel PRO wireless (instead of crappy Dell integrated), and minimal extra annoying software.

You could always consider an Apple :)

That setup that MatrixEVO posted is quite good, though.
