hey, i am looking to buy a new PC for gaming but am not very tech savvy. i have been looking around google for advice but the more i look the more confused i get. i was wondering if any of you guys think that this computer may be a good purchase? https://www.vibox.co.uk/submission-29-se if not, i would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction...

Budget?

I'd stay away with that one as they paired a crappy 4+1 (or even 3+1 depending on revision) VRM board with a high-draw CPU like the 8350, it also sounds a bit pricey for what you ultimately get.

Thanks for your comment beers,

That would be my max budget so around 820 sterling or 1000 euros. Like i said, what you said there went straight over my head ^^

I am just looking for something reliable that will play games like Rome 2 and the new Atilla on high settings.

http://www.awd-it.co.uk/intel-haswe...ked-8gb-ram-gtx-760-2gb-gaming-pc-system.html would this be a better option?

Flynn.. Combine those posts! Makes it easier to read and doesn't break the rules..

The first PC looks like a good pick. You may want to upgrade the GPU down the line, but it'll still run games at high quality!

Sorry, i think i fixed it now.

Thanks for your thoughts C4C! When you talk about the GPU.. is that the memory it has?
I mean, if i opted for the 16 DDR3.. would that mean i wouldn't have to upgrade later?

The GPU is the graphics card. The GTX 760 2GB is what's in the first computer. It's a mid level graphics card that'll play games smoothly at 1080p. You'll enjoy it, but if you want another monitor or feel the need to play at a higher quality setting, the Nvidia 9XX series would be the cherry on top..

RAM might be what you're thinking of. DDR3 is the standard right now with next gen being DDR4. 8GB is sufficient for memory, and you should only go with more if you'll be video/photo editing! :)

Thanks for the tip about the RAM. i didnt know that 8GB was sufficient for gaming so its good to know.

So i have been seeing a lot of people talking about SSD and wonder if that is important to have?

Is there an SSD thing on the model you Intel model you mentioned being a good pick?

That will work just fine the AMD 8350 with liquid cooling will be nice and the video card is a real good one you will be able to play most any game at ultra but there are a few games that will work best on high like far cry and crysis but over all very nice :)

SSD is nice because it is way faster than a disk drive and quiet as well. it never needs to be de fragmented as it written on in ordered form. but really at this time it is a bit expensive to get 1tb ssd cards. With that being said the 120gb or 240 is reasonable and can be use for your Bios and start up then use a 1tb or 2tb disk drive for your games and pic or what ever you like

hey Larz, so do you think this https://www.vibox.co.uk/submission-29-se is a better option than http://www.awd-it.co.uk/intel-haswe...ked-8gb-ram-gtx-760-2gb-gaming-pc-system.html this one?

what about "they paired a crappy 4+1 (or even 3+1 depending on revision) VRM board with a high-draw CPU like the 8350"?

The Intel build will be much better here and last you in the long term. I'm an AMD fan but only because you can build cheap computers using them, even though they start to fall behind in performance.

Don't bother with the AMD FX-8350. It'll be a waste of money and time if you are purchasing a pre-built machine.

Yeah, I think I am going to go for the Intel build which will hopefully last a long time. Thanks for your help because i didnt know which one to pick!!
