I am looking to upgrade some things on my laptop. I have 1 gb or ram and I want to upgrade to 2gb. I am just going to get rid or the 1gb and get 2 1gb sticks of the same stuff. i was thinking some of this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231116 If that stuff is crap let me know something else I can get for a good low price. I also have a ATI radeon x600 video card. I would like to upgrade that as well. It works ok but I want something better. I am not sure what kind of video cards fit in my laptop. i want to keep it under 400 dollars total for all the upgrades if possible.

Upgrading your RAM sounds like a good idea, and 2GB of RAM in an HP laptop should run pretty fast. That is what I have in mine, and it has always worked very well and very fast for me. The RAM that you have the link to is not bad, really, I don't think, but if I were you, I would spend just a bit more and get something that is a little bit more of a brand name. My suggestion would be to search any and all websites and retail stores that you can for PNY products. There stuff is usually not too expensive, and it works very well in my opinion. As far as upgrading the video card, most video cards in laptops are built right onto the motherboard of your machine, which makes it very hard to upgrade, but if you are willing to spend enough to do it, it can be done.
