Looking to upgrade to a newer platform!

Hi guys,

Hope you all had a good christmas! I haven't posted on here for a while, been lurking mainly.

I am looking to upgrade my current system, and have a budget of around £120.

I'd preferably like to go down the AMD route this time as I've noticed they're quite a bit cheaper.

I'll be needing

Motherboard
CPU (Dual Core minimum)
4GB DDR3

My current specs are

Gigabyte G31M-ES2L Motherboard
E6750 @ 3.2GHz
3GB DDR2 800MHz

I don't need a huge upgrade, just would like to get off the old socket 775 platform so that I have a little more to work with when I replace my ageing graphics card in the next few months!

Do any of you guys know of any specific components that I should be considering?

Thanks

With only £120 to play with my friend, you're a bit limited as to what you can do. Your current system with the Core 2 Duo will most likely be better than one you could put together for £120.

I've tried anyway, and this is what I've come up with

Athlon X3 455 - http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/processors/amdathlonx3/adx455wfgmbox.html (£68.59 +VAT)
Gigabyte GA-M68MT mATX motherboard - http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/...mdam3allchipsetmotherboards/ga-m68mt-s2p.html (£36.98 +VAT)
4GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM - http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/memory-pc/ddr3-pc3-10666/1333mhz/ram-313334.html (£18.98 +VAT)
Total £124.55
