looking to upgrade video card

hello,i am looking to upgrage my computer in my room.
i got it custem bult in 2003 its a,
nvidia mx 400 64mb,

my comput er is a,
amd athlon xp 1500+[when i got it custem bult it was a 1700+ but i fried it ]
288 mb ram
asus mobo
40gb hd
6 gb hd

i say have a look at 256mb video cards such as ATI Radeon x800XL (or the nVIDIA equivilent)

i would also look at upgrading your ram to 512 or 1024mb

Hmmm

Getting such a powerful card given the specifications would be a waste of money. I would recommend waiting and getting an entire NEW PC. If that's not an option, increase the amount of RAM and perhaps go for something cheaper on the graphics side. Perhaps a Nvidia FX5900 or the Radeon 9600XT.

so you want a new video card for the family pc or yours? if your own, i would recommend getting a 128mb FX5500 or ATI 9600, no need to get an XT since games that require that much video card power wouldnt be able to run with his specs.
