Losing connection

Ok, this might seem banal but in fact it got to a point its so pathetic and annoying that I decided to ask for help here :D
The problem has been going on since we moved to a new house.
Just like in previous house we have AT&T DSL 6mb and we are using router.

So here is where the problem starts (same setup worked in previous house)
At the beginning i was losing internet connection like once per 2-3 days
for like 5-6 min
I called the technician and they came and talked non-sense and told me it is fault of modem so he sold us new one.
The problems have continued till like January because of school i had no time to contact them.
Another technician came (finally someone who knew what he was doing)
And told that the modem the first one sold to us can go straight to garbage.
He checked all the lines and spent some time and connected us to the box with best line and got us the at&t modem and router in one (2Wire)
Apparently from 5-6 min drops there were more often but short 10sec-2 min
3rd visit was first technician and he blamed it on line in house so he connected modem straight to the basement where we put modem currently so he can finally stop saying its "wire problem"
15 min after he was gone the whole thing began again. I called them and they made some "test" and it was suppose to work but after 1 day of working fine it got back to normal.
4th visit 2 days ago finally ended with the 1st technician to check wiring around the house and i think he checked locally too. But again the effect was that after one day of working fine it is back again.
Right now i am so confused i do not know what is going on.
Now, it drops for 10-15 sec but sometimes modem restarts from not getting dsl signal just like the whole time.
So could anyone help me that problem :D
Thanks for response

Small important addition:
The computer is using adapter to connect to modem (it was same as when connected by cable straight to modem)
All computers have this problems (it doesnt matter when and how many computers are turned on)
No viruses etc.
Also today speed was like 400-2200 avg when we pay for 6mb ;/

Sounds like your area just has some really poor line quality, but you might want to have the box outside your house where the wires come into the house checked, as one of those wires may have come loose. If not, is cable internet available in your area for a similar price? If it is then that might be a better option...

Thank you for response. Well two guys have checked it so far (outside box) and the 1st guy to check it which was different technician and who really knew what he was doing said 2 lines had noises so he connected the good wire without problems. My father said he dont want to switch i forgot but he wanted to have line so apparently I am stuck with AT&T and tomorrow I have to call them again because seriously it is a shame for me. Good Old times from Poland when my internet was 128kb/s and similar problems happened but less often :) I also support the idea of bad wires but that will have to wait till tomorrow before I'm planning to call them :D The worst part of it is I am not an annoying customer or stuff like that. I don't look for problems to make their lives worse. All I want is to have the internet as it should be :D
