Hey, i recently plugged my monitor in to find it had lost the colour Red. My first thought (as i unplug the monitor most days before i go to work) was that the monitor cable was screwed, but after replacing that it still won't display red.
The monitor i'm using is an LCD screen with inbuilt TV and the TV shows up fine (with red) so i can rule the TV out as well.
I've tried changing the red balance on the desktop and on the monitor but upping it to max makes no difference.
I have checked my graphics card (7600GT, only purchased it new about 6 months ago, am from australia) and it seems to be slotted in fine (as always) and the vga connections are fine.
Considering that this just randomly happened one day when i plugged it in and the graphics card was very unlikely to have been physically damaged i am unsure whether to rule the card out. Could soem part of the card have shorted when i plugged the monitor cable in? Is there some part i'm overlooking? Or is it possible that the av1 connection on my monitor is wrecked? (i cant see how as it's just holes.. and theres nothing jammed in them from my other old cable, which was fine)
I don't want to replace it if i don't have to as i only play 1 game regularly and i can play it without red (wow) but then i'm getting assassins creed tonight and i dont think that'll be much fun without lots of red bloodshed
Any help is much appreciated
