Lots of ram with bad cpu

So I have a Intel Core2 Duo E6750 @ 2.66Ghz 2.66Ghz, and only 2gb of ram, and I'm wondering if I get more ram (probably another 4gb, so I'd have 6gb) would my cpu be too slow for that much and will it bottleneck my PC?
 
no, the cpu will not bottle neck your ram. uping your ram will help in responsiveness and will help with the swiftness of your pc. just be sure to get the same speed of ram as your current 2 gigs, or replace the 2 gigs with the new 4 gigs youll buy with the fastest ram possible that your motherboard can take
 
What OS are you running?
XP will be fine with 2GB.
Vista/ 7, you would probably need 4GB.
Make sure you've got 64bit OS before you upgrade, 32bit only take 3.25GB RAM

How about overclocking your machine?
 
4gb ram is a good amount, theres no need to go beyond that for a casual user. More ram will not require a faster cpu. If the ram runs faster then the cpu then the full potential of the ram just wont be used.

Upgrading your RAM to 4Gb will be great. It will increase the performance of your computer. Just make sure that you don't go beyond or exceed the maximum RAM your computer can take for it may cause some problems and a waste of money as well.
