loud fan?

the fans in my computer is unusual loud today.....the humming noise is getting a little annoying...is there any way that i can make it a little more quiet...

p.s- i have pent 4, 3.0ghz
 
Maybe they are just getting worn out. You could try speedfan to see if you could slow them down a bit, but your best bet would be to find the one(s) that are making noises and replace them

I have oiled and reused fans that started to rattle and all, but they end up making noises again within a month or so. YOur best bet would be to just get new ones. Espcially if it turns out to be your processor fan!
 
Is it any hotter in your house than it normally is? Through the warm months even with the AC on my fans run faster than they did through the winter
 
it only happens when i play game, and it never occur before. when i play a game the fans sounded like they are going to explode or something. the temp in my house is normal..........should i just shutdown and give my computer a litte rest?
 
yeh speedfan, you can see the temps as well to see if theres anything untoward. usually when im in gaming mode, i have a frozen beer next to the case, and the sound turned up loud. :)
 
Speedfan, as the name suggests, allows you to control the speed of some fans. It did on my old laptop, but none of my other comps support it(well, my Averatec and Main system should once they update a bit more)

if you configure it properly it is automatic. also i forgot older motherboards wont support it, so put a resistor in your case fan or something.
