Low Resources Anti-Virus

what's the opinion on the best AV software that doesn't boggle down a system? haven't used any in a few years, but i've been leeching/seeding torrents alot lately.

used to use norton a few years ago, but the new version seems to ruin performance for just about any system. honestly i just want something reliable, doesn't use alot of resources, and can be disabled when i'm doin important stuff like recording, encoding, burning, etc.
 
AVG its free and IMHO its the best one out there but that just my opinion.. Also there is Avast that is free as well and neither one will bog your system down..
 
I agree with AVG. I can't tell any real adverse effects on my machine while it's running in the background. It's probably about as good as you can get(for free, for low resource, etc)
