lowering voltage increase CPU life?

wouldn't matter it would have to decrease more than that, but if you did, it wouldn't run stable as said above.
 
Really over volting your CPU to overclock could possibly shorten its life alittle but just lowering your voltage from stock is not going help it last longer, if it did it would take so long the processor would be outdated before it helped. I still have Pentium I and K6s that still run fine.
 
i dont get this though because surely if you lower the voltage it wont get enough power?
lets say for example we have a processor thats set at 1.4volts by default then obviusly intel have set it at that for a reason?
 
You can drop it alittle lower than stock, they set them alittle higher than they really have to by default so there will no problems with stability.
