LPD/LPR to send files

Has anyone ever used the LPD/LPR to send files over the internet from PC to PC. I am looking for a way to do this without resorting to email.

LPD/LPR is a protocol for sending files to a printer over a network, includidng the internet. It can also be used for sending files PC to PC. It is actually better than FTP for this purpose because it verifys the accuracy of the sent file

Files are currently transmitted over the Internet as email attachments

Peer-to-peer

u could also use a Peer-to-peer ,example the Shareaza one, which is used to act as a peer to peer connection between any 2 pcs connected to the internet.
