Lynksis router will not work here

Well, im in japan right now and using their fiber optic internet service. but for the life of me i can not get my router to work with it. i go through lynksis support and they won't help because im in japan. then they tell me because the warranty ran out. heres the deal.

My internet requires a username and password to connect. i need this entered in the router so i don't have to put it in everytime i connect with either of my pc's. I enter it under the PPPoe settings, and even put in the Primary and secondary DNS. it will not work. ive been working on this nonstop for a week now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How does this connection connect to your computer? I mean, I assume it's through ethernet if you're trying to use a router, but does it also require special software? Or is the username/password some default Windows stuff...?

Hmm... I also found this. I have no clue of the relevance to your problem, but it may be worth trying out.

Yes, ethernet hook up. It does not require special software. it's not a problem with windows. i can connect from either of my pc's, but cant get the router to cofigure the right way, so i can not use the wireless.

The info on the link is something new. i will definetly try it when i get home, thanks

default username for linksys routers is any, just chuck anything in there, password is admin.

That should let you into the router to fiddle with settings and sort it all out

that's not the problem im having. i can get into the router with no problem. i tried the info on that link and got somewhere with it, but now when im on the status tab it tries to connect, then refreshes a few times then says cannot retrive IP adress.
