I just installed my new xp-90 (with Thermaltake SilentCat 90mm fan) on the system below. When I first booted up, I went into the bios and checked my temps there, which reported the cpu idling between 47/48C, which is what it had been earlier with my stock heatsink.
I had used arctic silver 5, which I noticed was a lot thicker than the other stuff I had used, not sure if I need more of it, as I just used a little and really spread it out with my finger. Anyway, I am wondering why the temp. was not better?
When I got into windows, I opened up the Abit EQ monitoring system, but it no longer shows my cpu/system temps, anyone know whats up with that? So, the only reading I could get was from speedfan, which said the cpu was idling around 40C, so I dont know what to trust. Is there a way I can get my Abit EQ to work again, and/or a way to check the temp in BIOS while in windows?
