This thing is running 8x in crossfire mode, and its killing my fps... should I go to a 16x mobo? my specs are listed below. im getting freakin 22fps in crysis:mad:

Also, I know the better the gpu, the worse it gets. This mobo was fine for 2x 1gb cards, but horrid for 2x 2gb cards. I need a good 16x mobo, idc about price

No it doesnt, not your problem. The problem is coming from somewhere else. Its not from running at 8/8X

The amount of memory on your card makes no difference to the slot.

What do you guys think of the ASUS Crosshair IV Formula, 890FX

Its ok, but over priced.

Im assuming you have a 64bit OS right?
Update direct x
Update windows
Ensure you have all game updates
BIOS update for motherboard
Crysis takes some customisation to work correctly, there are many articles on the internet about this.

Great board, fairly expensive though. Plenty of good features for the money, as most 'Republic of Gamers' certified products have. I would have more to say on it, if mine hadn't failed before I got a chance to play with the bios. You will have a bit of room left over in the case with it if you are using a full tower, so it is fairly easy to get installed. I have a few gripes with it though:

1) I wish the black memory slots were in a 3/4 configuration and not 2/4 so I could put my ram next to each other and further away from my cpu cooler

2) There's only one ps/2 port, so I can't use both my keyboard and mouse with this board, I need to go buy a usb mouse eventually

3) I wish the default memory controller was 1600mhz and not 1333mhz

4) I can't get through to customer service, and it's critical that I do

5) I wish it was sli compatible in addition to crossfire, seperately at least

6) It could have been easier to use, and less expensive would have been nice- I feel like they marked it up some because of the ROG certifications
