Mac and Windows for school use

Hi all

I am about to start at the university, and I am thinking about getting a new laptop. I would preferer a Mac, but then my cousin said it might be a little slower at the calculation in programs such as Maple etc. do anyone know if that is true?

Depends on the laptop, there are Windows-based laptops that outperform Mac's, and then vice versa. If you tell us your budget we can help you find the best for that price.
 
I have been looking at a MacBook pro that costs around 2500 USD, 2000 EUR. (Danish prices are probably abit more expensive)
