mac desktop question

excuse my general stupidity here but could sombody give me the correct terms for numbers 1,2 and 3
i dont like using the old macs in collage but its all they have for us on a Friday
and i have to put a sheet on there use in my progress tracker

Haha thats a tiger desktop get leopard.

1. Dock - Shortcuts
2. Control bar - When on finder the file may create a new folder and in edit like there will be copy and paste. It's the equivelent of Windows explorer,
3. Thats a hard disk with the HD icon or are you talking about the icons if so them icons are like at the bottom right of your start menu with the time it kinda shows the wi-fi signals,time machine etc
