Mac Files Read On Pc?

Hello everyone. I joined this forum to learn more. Here is my first question. I have a buddy that is going from MAC to PC. He asked me if there is some way or some kind of software that we can put in his Newly built PC so that he can put his saved MAC files that are on a Zip disk into his PC. What is everyones thoughts on this. If I am not clear with my question, let me know and I will try to ask in a different way... Thanks Guys...

Can you give me a bit more on this subject... I don't know MAC very well!!!

macs and windows can both read/write to FAT32 partitions natively. Macs can only read NTFS partitions and have to use SMB (samba) to communicate.

If you were to burn files to a CD and take them from mac to PC, windows xp will see every file but depending on its format, it may not be able to do anything with it.
