hi all,
i wanna know if iMac has a case, because i saw just a monitor with mouse and keyboard.

sorry for my ignorance :o

Sort of... iMacs are contained withing the monitor housing... the newer iMacs are completely contained in a housing the size of a flat panel monitor. The older ones most people are familiar with, the entire computer is the size of a standard CRT monitor.

Nope.....they are self-contained in the monitor, the iMac is the best Mac to buy if buying a Mac. I hate Mac, so I can't say much about them. The iMac is what kept Mac alive when they were released. Mac got very lucky, iPod and iMac saved them from selling out. A Mac is like a piece of art, they look pretty but, you can't do anything with them.

haha, intel crazy... I have a macbook pro, which is running windows right now, and now I have the both of best worlds, I think a 2.16 C2D and 2 Gigs of ram along with a 256 X1600 video card, is just as good as any other laptop let alone desktop :)

correction, Microsoft is what kept apple alive.

if it weren't for microsoft pumping money into apple over the years to avoid being split up by antitrust laws, they'd be gone 20 times over.

????????????? But all the movie editors use MAC. That's bull to say MAC would be gone with those movie editors in mind. :)

they'd just have to move on and realize that they can edit their movies just as well with a x64 based windows machine, and they just never tried :)

a niche market, film industry or otherwise, is not enough to sustain an entire computer corporation

I know Windows movie editing software SUX and crashes like a drunk driver on a drinking spree. Everyone knows MAC don't crash easily, in fact, they're very hard to crash. They are basically designed to do audio and visual applications. They have a very specific area in which they are tuned for. Hence why Apply also makes I-pods. They specialize in audio with they're MP3 and video and audio with MAC. The movie industry's now a days I think can hold MAC up with just that. World wide.

than maybe theres other problems with your computer. i've always used windows and my computers rarely crash. and yes, i also did video editing.

i even ran Windows ME in a game server pc running 24/7 for over a year with the only down time being from power outages and hardware changes, and windows me is pretty much the worst os you could use.

The type of video editing he's talking about is more like making movies in Maya and CG special effects.

Hmmm my computer's video editing program never crahes...

And you should use the imacs in our school, they crash a whole lot more than my computer.

This is true. They also do more than that decently.

They make Ipods because it makes them money.

MP3 was not invented by Apple. It was invented by Franhaufer (definitely spelled that wrong), some other company a while ago.

i personally like osx, it feels very smooth, and all the programs feel very well integrated (minus the video editing program, but that's understandable, cause it's huge and processor intensive)

but i just don't feel as IN CONTROL with osx. i'm used to being able to customize EVERYTHING in windows, and osx feels too oversimplified to me.

that's the main reason i'm having a hard time getting used to vista. everything's done for you, there are no advanced controls to be had

i might switch back to xp, but i seem to have lost my installation disc :( and my university is out of copies for the time being

this thread is a complete waste of space on this forum.......

It has gone from a simple question about imacs to a mac sucks thread

it should just be closed no one here is making any intellegent posts at this point
