Mac Install Problem

I am a owner of a new mac laptop

i am unable to use video chat with msn mac

i have tried to install yahoo messenger for mac, but when i download the program its go to my desktop as 'ymsgr_2.5.3-osx_install.bin'

upon click on this believe this is how to install it, it then continues to open up microsoft excel (why i dont know)

where i am i going wrong..... please help?
 
are you running tiger?

what version?

is the version of msn chat a version for that particular OS or is it for an earlier or later distro of OS X?

Also, check your logs in the /var/logs directory for errors and post them here.

If you don't know your way around in the terminal go to Apple Menu > About this mac> More Info > Logs > Error logs

copy and paste them on this forum.
