you can but running the mac will be very hard. i have a friend that did this and he said it took him months for the mac os to work properly.
I don't think he'd have too much of a problem. You don't need to make a Hackentosh anymore, since new Mac's run Intel chips.
Mac OS still requires propietary apple hardware to run on PCs, and yes, that's exactly what hackintosh is for... I don't think there is a hack to allow PowerPC- based versions of Mac OS to run on PC because of the different platform they're designed for.
