hey
im in the market to buy a new computer, for things like light video/picture editing, a few games and things like that. Should I be getting a 27'' iMac, or,
a PC with better specs for around the same price?
I find that you tend to pay quite a big ''apple tax'', and dont get much bang for your buck. but, on windows you cant run OSX.

I would go with a PC. But i'm just a fan of PC. I used Mac also but it's really not my type of computer. It's great though but still, i prefer PC.

You cannot build a better spec PC for the prices of a 27" iMac. Just try to find a 27" screen with that resolution that supports IPS all for under $700 just for the screen. You won't be able to.

^i belive he is talking about the actual computer, not the monitor.

I would go pc, but, ehh its all up to you, this forum is prodominatly pc people, so you find more for pc, but, those mac are very nice, i just would rather have a little bit better hardware, the screen? Yah those mac screens are nice, but you could also get a nice 25+ inch screen from Dell, acer, or w/e that has decent specs. Theres a point for me where is it really worth spending 200$+ more just cause it has this? Do i really need that, will it benefit me?

It's not as if ips is that big of a deal. It's only so expensive because of low-volume production. You can get almost the same color reproduction with a good crt, at whatever resolution you want.

As far as the rest me the hardware goes, base model macs are similar to pc's in price, but as room as you start adding extras, they get pretty ridiculous.
