Mac osx administrator password

i have a mac g4 that has a adminisrator password, it wont let me change system settings and other things, is there a way to change it, or delete it? im new to macs so explain well....

Get an OSX installer CD, there is an option to reset the admin user password if you start up from the cd and go into the installer (but you don't have to actually install any software).
