Macbookpro or Alienware for architectral stu

Okay guys I need your advice. I am a first year student of architectral studies. We will use software like google sketch up and cry engine. I don't have a desktop however I have a play station 3. Which laptop is more suitable for me. Mbp 15 or m17x? Id like to use it for good 2 or 3 years.
 
Either as you can run both operating systems on both laptops. Get the one that supports technically what you need.

do you need 3D acceleration for your CAD software?
will you require extra ram?
How much hard drive space will you need?

Etc,etc.

I would go for the Mac book and install Windows 7 on it.
 
8g ram I preferred. These are not important. The point is, cry engine is a windows-only program and I have no idea how well it will work on a Mac. Because when I use my mate's mac(in windows), it overheats like a lot when running big games. And cry engine is a game engine obviously.
