wat are the new macbooks upgrade parth its got a x86(intel core 2 duo) processor, and i was looking at there specs the thing is they come with like 512 mb of ram and like a 60gig harddrive, and to getting more ram with it is like way expensive for like 1gig is extra $160(nzd)(thats really expenive for 512 more ram)

so my real question is can u use jst normal (sodim)ram and normal 2.5" hdd for the macs or do u need special mac ram or mac hdd's, cause DIYing it would be way cheaper.

I have no clue how accessible the drive or RAM would be but I'm nearly 100% sure it uses typical hardware. I know my mini doesn't require anything special(and it's G4 based!)

Yeah, It uses standard ram (Im not sure about the pins, should be DDR2 laptop ram though) I say this because I borrowed one once and the owner had gotton 2gigs of generic laptop ram on newegg.
