lol, no, as you can see, its a light brown color, and it really is wax, not a hoax, although it only got on the special function keys, so i can still type on it. But now my monitor also looks like crap :(

it would seem like a good idea, but when i take a razor blade it only takes off very small pieces, and it scratches the keyboard. If you use ice cubes then it would come off easier, but i cant do that on a keyboard. So im gonna just deal with it until i need a new keyboard.

I've heard you can put keyboards through the dishwasher and it won't hurt anything as long as they dry out well enough before you use them again.

You can get rid of that wax heating up the keyboard (only until the melting point of the wax) and wiping it with a soft cloth. It would be better if you take apart the keyboard first.

Man, I feel so sorry for you... If that happened to me, I'd be so mad... Anyway, people uses electricity now...:P

are you sure is candle wax and not caramel?

Why would he be lying?

that sux, and its most likely going to stain the plastic the color of the wax. pop all the keys off and wash them off, i do it all the time. just watch out for the longer more rectangular keys. in fact, just leave them in.

nm, i looked at the pic again, and u cant pop those media keys out. i have the same keyboard. . .

have u tried rotating the volume control? what did the wax do :P

im sure its wax since i was sitting here when it happened. And if you look at the pic, it didnt get on the keyboard keys, its on the speciall function keys which do not come off, so the only way i could really get it off would be to melt it with a lighter, but only until the wax comes off. Thanks for the ideas. It does suck, cause this is a pretty new keyboard and costs $30. It also got on my monitor, my desk ,and the speaker faceplates which i had to take off since it didnt loook good with wax on it (luckily logitech made the speakers look good without faceplates :))

i didnt read your latest post before i made mine (didnt know there aws a 2nd page :P). Anyway, i tried pushing all the buttons and they do work, the volume control hardly moves at all, but luckely my speakers and headset come with volume controls so i dont need to use it.

i'd do as suggested and try to heat up the plastic till' warm enough to wipe wax off.

or sit there and use my finger nails, toothpicks, and tweezers.

how about u take the keyboard apart and just clean off the front plate. i dont think the cirucit board will be sticking to the front. so yea,

acutally, there is a keyboard like that out there selling right now, u can run it under a sink and still works, its like........ WATER PROOOOOOOOOF!

unscrew the bottem of the keyboard and take the face off, get some of wax off of that. Then you'll have to work slowly to get the stuff off the keys.
