Mail Client?

I am trying to find a mail client like Windows Live Mail that can be minimized to the taskbar. I like WLM but I don't like having the mail program open as a window. I'd much rather having it running minimized as a tray icon.

But so far I have found that WLM can't do this.

Does anyone know a Mail client that can be minimized as a tray icon and stay running?

Thanks

Mozilla (makers of Firefox) have a mail client named Thunderbird. Don't know if it can be minimized to the tray or not...

As an added point, be careful with this "new" Windows Live Mail as it is just Outlook Express with a new face... I've had to clean up more than a few different computers because of viruses that slipped through on e-mails downloaded by Outlook. What happens is that Outlook downloads and OPENS any attachments when it retrieves you mail, bypassing your anti-virus. I would personally recommend trying out Thunderbird or just going directly to your e-mail inbox on the providers website to prevent any risk to your computer.

Yeah I've used Thunderbird before, however it doesn't minimize to the tray either :(

I usually just check my emails in the browser. So I guess I'll just keep doing that unless I can find a program that can minimize to the tray and stay running. I don't like to have it open in order to get new messages. I want it running so whenever I do get a message the tray icon will notify me of that.

But I don't want to have an email client window open for that to happen.

I could use the gmail notifier tool which sits in the tray. But then I'd have to login and read it anyway...

outlook can be minimised to the tray BUT windows live hotmail/w-live does is not compatible with outlook as they stopped working with outlook. i do not know why but when i tried using my windows live on outlook it said "we no longer allow you to open emails through outlook".
you can use "google mail", yahoo mail" and others in outlook.
